Abstract:
In recent times, there has been considerable excitement in the Indian PC
(personal computer) industry about the emergence of sub 10,000 rupees computing
devices. A number of companies are beginning to offer low cost PC's, keeping in
view that affordability is a major issue for computer buyers in India. However,
for the PC market to explode, introducing cheap PC's is not enough. The entire
ecosystem, Internet connectivity, local language computing, distribution in
smaller towns, finance schemes, etc, all need to be taken care of. Will low cost
PC's really take off in India?
