INTRODUCTION: Early in the morning of January 10, 2020, 38-year-old Byju Raveendran (Raveendran), founder of Byju’s the Bengaluru, India-based education technology startup, was skimming through the pages of a national business daily when a news item caught his eye. As he read it through, a smile appeared on his face. The news item was about his company, Byju’s, and its success and how it had attracted a recent round of investment of $200 million from investors .

Raveendran started his journey when he launched his brick-and-mortal student coaching class in 2011. The venture was a success and was a learning for him as well. He noticed many gaps in the traditional education delivery process in India and came up with a solution – technology. In 2015, he launched Byju’s mobile learning app. There was no looking back after that. The company grew rapidly and was able to attract lot of venture capital.
