INTRODUCTION: In December 2020, Amazon India, the Indian arm of the world’s largest online retailer Amazon.com, announced the launch of a toy hackathon for children – Toyathon Challenge 2020. Winners of the hackathon would get an opportunity to collaborate with a major Indian toy manufacturing firm to work on their ideas. With this initiative, Amazon India committed itself to assisting the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) community in the country. Inspired by the local handiwork and folk art, Amazon wanted to help create environmentally sustainable toys that would educate, amuse, and engage young minds.. |
