INTRODUCTION: Nephrocare Health Services Pvt Ltd. (NephroPlus), a provider of kidney care and dialysis services, operated the biggest dialysis center network in India with a pan India presence. All the centers were equipped with the latest dialysis equipment and followed innovative healthcare processes. Founded in 2010, by Vikram Vuppala (Vikram), Kamal D. Shah (Kamal), and Sandeep Gudibanda (Sandeep), NephroPlus’s goal was to set new benchmarks in dialysis treatment and renal care services. The founders identified that dialysis treatment was a hugely underserved market in India with very few large-scale players in the private sector. They were clear that to be successful it was necessary to offer an affordable service without compromising on service quality.
