Who is this video about?
Gurcharan Das, a management consultant and the author of India Unbound, an international bestseller, published in 17 languages and filmed by the BBC. A graduate from Harvard University with honours in Philosophy and Politics, he also attended Harvard Business School (AMP).
This Former CEO of Procter & Gamble, India, started his career as a trainee in Richardson Hindustan Limited, and later held the key positions of Chairman and Managing Director in the same company from 1981 to 1985. In 1995, taking a break from his career spanning 30-years, in six countries, he took an early retirement in 1995, in order to become a full time writer. He has also featured in three case studies in Harvard Business School. He works as a consultant to various companies on global corporate strategyand is on the boards of several blue chip Indian companies.
Some of his popular works – A Fine Family, Three English Plays, Larins Sahib Mira, 9 Jakhoo Hill The Elephant Paradigm – have gained critical acclaim. Apart from writing a regular column on Sundays for the Times of India and periodic guest columns for the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Foreign Affairs, Time and Newsweek magazines, he is a regular speaker to the top managements of the world’s largest corporations.
