Continuing with its tradition of innovating management pedagogy and the way real management is delivered in the classrooms, IBSCDC presents its new product, Executive Brief.
Welcome to IBSCDC’s latest and for the first time in the world product, Executive Brief. Essentially, this is a video case study where in the protagonist (a CEO, an Entrepreneur or an Executive) shares a few real time dilemmas and the students are to debate and discuss those dilemmas in the class room. After the discussion is over, the actual decision is shown which comes as Executive Response. A brief write up on Executive Brief and the way this product can be used effectively in the classrooms can be found here (download Pdf)
This product is borne out of years of experience in writing and discussing numerous case studies in classrooms at various levels – MBAs, Executive MBAs, Executive Development Programs, PhD Programs and Faculty Development Programs. This product has successfully been tested in all these platforms and the response is enormously encouraging. That’s when we thought we should share with you too. Hope and trust you too would find it as interesting and enterprising as we pleasantly found. This is not a substitute for traditional case studies rather another pedagogical tool with tremendous learning and engaging potential.
Decision making has become too critical a task. Because, as the Danish proverb says, "He who has a choice has trouble." Picking out the best choices out of the available ones, analyse them by experience and, get cues and clues from it - to land at the best possible solution. Executives often run out of time in making the right decisions. So, decision making even calls for swift use of thumb-rules, to make the most credible decision in the shortest possible time. This is what surviving in business is all about; so decisions can either pep up or pop out a business. Napoleon got it right: "Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide." Such vital decision making is what we would like to train the students in, through Executive Briefs.
Your feedback is welcome and your valuable suggestions are honored and respected.
