Abstract: Cyprus became the latest casualty in the crises which engulfed the Euro Zone, when its banks collapse in March 2013. The country stared at bankruptcy on the back of highly indebted banks which had made big losses investing in Greece and on unsustainable sovereign debts. The case details the Cyprus crisis, its origin, and its impact on Cyprus and the conditions that made Cyprus accept the bailout. The case also offers scope for discussions on the impact of future crises and the bailout condition set by Cyprus especially on its bank depositors. The case also raises questions on the future of the Euro Zone. |
