Introduction:Twitter, the pioneer microblogging site, became the darling of the Web 2.0 era, with the shift in consumer Internet usage from entertainment towards communication. By posting short messages called 'tweets' of not more than 140 characters, Twitter helps users keep others informed about their current status via text messaging, instant messaging, e-mail or the web. Enabling unusual speed, immediacy and spontaneity at the same time, Twitter has social and business dimensions to its services - all free. While the Twitter craze quickly spread across community and corporate entities, its services seemed more novelty than business and failed to introduce ways of making money. Given the competition from established players like Google, Facebook and other emerging sites that aim to offer integrated services in addition to blogging, can Twitter find the right revenue model to make a buck out of its services? How can Twitter make money to ensure its long-termviability in the industry?
