Anand Sundaresan aged 51 years is a chartered Mechanical Engineer, coupled with a qualification in Electrical Engineering. He has an experience of over three decades in various Indian and MNCs in senior positions. He began his career as a trainee in the R&D wing of Larsen & Toubro’s Heavy Engineering Group and thereafter joined the construction equipment division of the erstwhile Greaves Cotton & Company Ltd., where he rose to the position of Deputy General Manager, Marketing. He had a short stint as Sales Director in a Multinational company M/s.Hoesch Rothe Erde (THYSSEN GROUP - GERMANY)
up a design center to cater to the requirements of entire Schwing Group which is registered as a Software Technology Park, thus bringing foreign exchange earnings to India. He is a member of various business forums, including the German Business Group, Indo German Chamber of Commerce, Madras Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Indian Earth moving & Construction Industry Association Ltd., Confederation of Indian Industry and many other associations. Sundaresan was awarded the prestigious Rashtriya Ekta Award for the year 2001 presented by the National Unity Conference, New Delhi, for outstanding contribution in the Construction Industry. Under his stewardship, Schwing Stetter India was awarded the best European venture of India 2005 for outstanding contribution towards the promotion of Indo German Economic Relations. He also received the Best Manufacturing Excellence Award for the year 2005 from Frost & Sullivan. A keen believer of training of personnel at all levels, Sundaresan was instrumental in conducting regular training programs for Schwing's employees, customers and technicians. This was achieved by inviting foreign technicians to India, as well as enabling Indian technicians to go overseas, including fitters and welders. |
