Abstract:
Rack and Pinion Software Solutions (RPSS), an enterprise management and data
processing company, roped in a large customer base and expanded further, by
providing timely and quality service. Started in the 1960s, initially, it had very
few projects to handle and was very successful in implementing those projects
as the resources were skilled enough to handle those projects. However, after
expansion, the company was increasingly bagging complex projects and as the
projects were not implemented on time, it resulted in the company losing its
clients. The case study deals with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in
RPSS and analyses the problems faced. The case study also discusses on how the
SDLC model can be modified focusing on specific criteria such as project
complexity, team members’ skills, managers’ skills, client expectations, etc.
