Abstract:
Amgen, one of the world's leading biotechnology companies, had sales of $8.4 billion in 2003. Though the sales and profits of the company were higher than its competitors, it was lagging behind on the innovation front. Over the years the company grew with several mergers and acquisitions. It expected to achieve a turnover of $10 billion in 2004 and promised investors a 20% growth rate untill 2005.
