Abstract:
Since the economic reforms of 1979, China's advertising industry had grown at an annual growth rate of 40%. With more than 80,000 advertising agencies by 2005, this tremendous growth has come from China's economic boom coupled with a growing consumer market and increased penetration of television and Internet. With the ownership limitations for foreign advertising companies to be lifted by the end of 2005 and the impending Beijing Olympics in 2007, China is expected to become the third largest advertising market by 2006. Despite such potential, China's advertising industry has still to deal with increasing competition from foreign advertisement companies and cultural diversity
